The Full Story
Dr. Lynn Martin and his wife DeMarise opened the Fort Wayne Pet Hospital in 1969. Doc, DeMarise and his children Kathy, Tom, and John moved around before coming back home. First it was Purdue University for him to get his degree in Veterinary Medicine. They lived in White Sands, NM while Dr. Lynn served in the Army. Then moved to work as a Vet in Elkhart to save money.
The Martin's lived in the unfinished basement under the practice. They worked hard in between clients to finish both upstairs and the basement.
Soon after they welcomed Marcus into the world, who walked in his father's footsteps. He also got a degree in Veterinary Medicine at Purdue, and worked in the practice since the early 2000s.
The practice is still a family business as it started out in 1969. We don't forget the sacrifices Dr. Lynn and his family made for the business to be as great as it is today. In 2015 we took Dr. Lynn's once small practice and did a renovation & expansion into the current Fort Wayne Pet Hospital. We thank each and every family who has placed their trust in our care and allowed us the blessing that is this new building. In our current multi-doctor practice we continue to be blessed by our new families and those who have been with us for generations. We continue to consider every family to be a part of our family.
