My labrador retriever, Shadow was 1 year old. She got stung by a bee, I took her to the Fort Wayne Pet
Hospital and Dr. Lynn gave her a shot that counteracted the sting. Over the course of the next 2 weeks, Shadow got stung
3 more times. With each sting, her reaction got substantially worse. The last sting to Shadow made her go into
a coma like state. I put her quickly into my car and took her to the hospital. It was 4:50 in the afternoon.
On the way, I called FWPH and Dr. Lynn met me when I pulled into the parking lot. He lifted my 65lb dog out of my backseat
and carried her lifeless body into the building. He gave her 2 quick shots and we both sat with her on the FWPH's floor
until 7:30pm that night! They closed at 5pm! He never once made me feel like I was putting him out or inconveniencing
him. While we were there, he caressed her, continued to take her vitals and made small talk to get my mind off the situation.
SHE PULLED THROUGH! I figured the charge for 2 hours of overtime for a veterinarian would be out of this world.
It was so minimal, couldn't believe it. Not only did my SHADOW live, but so did my wallet. I will never take my
animals anywhere else.
